KirkPatrick Level 1 Survey

This survey is part of the evaluation phase of the Designing a User-Friendly App Prototype minicourse. It collects learner feedback on satisfaction, engagement, relevance, and the overall learning experience. The responses will be used to assess the effectiveness of the course and inform future improvements to instructional design, activities, and learning materials.

KirkPatrick Level 2

Course Learning Outcome Measured:

CLO4 = Apply fundamental design principles (e.g., consistency, simplicity, visual hierarchy) to improve the usability of their prototype

Module Learning Objective Measured:

Module 4: Applying Design Principles to Improve Usability

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  1. Define key design principles including consistency, simplicity, and visual hierarchy.

  2. Identify examples of effective and ineffective application of design principles in app interfaces.

  3. Analyze a wireframe or prototype and determine areas that require usability improvements.

  4. Recommend design changes that improve navigation, readability, and user experience.

  5. Apply design principles to justify design decisions within a prototype.

Learners will engage with instructional materials and activities designed to develop their understanding of foundational UX design principles. Learning materials include a short multimedia lesson introducing consistency, simplicity, and visual hierarchy, visual examples of effective and ineffective interface designs, and guided explanations demonstrating how design principles influence usability.

Assessment Instructions:

The assessment includes a mix of single-choice, true/false, matching, fill-in-the-blank, and scenario-based short-answer questions designed to evaluate your understanding and application of key UX design principles.

Scoring & Success Criteria:

  • The assessment contains 10 questions worth 10 points total

  • A minimum score of 80% (8 out of 10 points) is required to pass.
